Improve your Fridge efficency this summer with the award winning Vento from Milenco. Stops caravan fridges overheating on hot days and saves gas. Fully automatic electronic controler. Easy to fit.
Why I started this job
My Dometic fridge has struggled to maintain its cool this year, both in the UK and France. Then I came across the Milenco Vento twin fan fridge cooling unit. It’s obtainable from Milenco via caravan dealers.
What I did
The Vento unit went behind the fridge upper ventilator using two car radio mounting brackets. I stuck a paper template of the hole for the control unit on the end panel of the fridge compartment and cut the opening with a Stanley knife. After fitting the control panel I picked up a 12V supply from the van’s auxiliary circuit. A 3amp fuse was fitted in the live lead.
Cost?
The Vento costs £29.99 and is available from Milenco at caravan accessory shops. Allow £5 for the fuse holder, fuse and sundry items.
Was it worth it?
For very little cost the fridge’s efficiency when working in high ambient temperatures has been vastly improved.
Caravan says
This job involves 12V DC electricity so you should get the work done by a dealer if you are not qualified, or if your van is still under warranty. Disconnect the battery before commencing any work.
