Practical Caravan 2009 Awards - Best Accessories Practical Caravan 2008 Awards - Best Accessories At the 2007 NEC Caravan & Boat Show, Milenco Limited re-wrote the book on towing mirrors, when it launched the award winning Aero Towing Mirror. The Aero Mirror offered unrivalled stability at very high towing speeds. It was the first mirror to meet the pedestrian safety standards and the new European standards.
This year Milenco is launching their Grand Aero Towing Mirror. The Grand Aero Mirror offers all the benefits of the original Aero Mirror, plus the maximum view possible, combined with very high stability. As you would expect from Milenco, this is a very high quality product, manufactured with the best materials available.
The clamping screws are stainless steel and turn in brass inserts, which will never corrode, and the mirror is fitted with chrome safety glass. The head is the largest ever used on a caravan towing mirror, and has been designed to be extremely stable, shaped to enable you to see far past your caravan and cars in all three lanes on the motorway.
Like the Aero Towing Mirror, the Grand Aero Towing Mirror fits all cars, 4 x 4’s and vans produced since 1995. It is available in pairs, complete with carry case.
Remember, when you are towing your caravan or any other trailer that is wider then the narrowest part of the rear of your vehicle, it is a legal requirement that you fit additional towing mirrors. These mirrors must be E-Marked. If you are towing blind, without towing mirrors, or using illegal towing mirrors (not EMarked) you can be prosecuted by the police, given 3 points on your licence and fined up to £1000.00.

Towing Mirrors – The Law
The Law in the United Kingdom specifies, you must be able to see clearly down both sides of the caravan, and see 4 meters either side of the caravan at a distance of 20 meters behind the rear of the caravan.
This in reality means, if your caravan/trailer is wider than the rear of your tow vehicle, you must fit towing mirrors to comply with the law. You can be fined up to £1000 and get 3 point on your licence for towing blind. (At exhibitions, we have met many caravanners that had received 3 points and £60 fixed penalty notices.)
On tow vehicles conforming to directive 2003/97 EC or sold after January 2007, the towing mirrors may project 25cms further than the widest part of the caravan. On tow vehicles pre dating this directive, the mirrors may project 20 cms further than the widest part of the caravan.
Since 12th of December 2005 it is a legal requirement that you have type approved (e-marked) mirrors on both sides of the tow vehicle.
All Milenco mirrors comply with the law, are type approved and correctly e-marked.
